Apple to Host a “Back to the Mac” Event

According to invitations received by tech press Apple is planning a "Back to the Mac" event on October 20. Apple attached an image revealing a lion behind an Apple logo within what appears to be a Macbook Pro touchpad. 

After some time of focusing on their mobile products, the iPhone, iPad and the iOS, which got some people wondering if Apple is phasing out their focus on Mac and Mac hardware, this comes as a welcome refreshers to everyone whom still hold the Mac platform dear to their hearts.

According to CNET the invitation promises a peek into the next major version of Mac OS X, and if we are to take the image of a lion behind the Apple logo as any indication it might be called Mac OS X Lion. There may also be some Mac hardware announcements, but which exactly is up to anyone's speculation.

Some of those speculations include a new Macbook Pro or a new Macbook Air. Some believe the new laptops might include touch screen technology. On the software side a new iLife suite is also a noted possibility.
