The desktop clutter: To many users the desktop is also another location to store files. And it is an ‘easy to find’ location. But too many files stored on the desk top may cause some problems. Every open application, running or non running will be listed there. There will be some indication, like a small blue light or a small black arrow to tell its status. You need not quit each and every application. Real memory guzzling programs like Photoshop, Corel draw, excel etc should be watched. Close these applications when you are surfing the web or doing other things. Your Mac will definitely perform better. Having several windows open also slows down the system. Several excel spread sheets, many PDFs and some e-mail drafts kept open at the same time will load heavily on your computer. It will take up a lot of available system memory to keep these windows accessible. Let your computer take a break by closing at least some of these windows. It will help to increase the speed and give you a better user experience.
